Nacra 15 sailors in the UK have many opportunities to compete throughout the year, and put into practice what they have learnt at the class and squad training camps. The UK Nacra 15 Class operate a series of UK-based GP events - the UK Nacra 15 National Series. These events are open to all sailors and accessible to all regardless of ability. New sailors will be welcomed and supported so don't be afraid to get involved. There are also the UK Nacra 15 National Championships in the Autumn each year as well as the annual RYA Youth Nationals in April.
Our sailors are also encouraged and supported to compete internationally, where we have had great achievements on the European circuit.

The UK Nacra 15 National Series is organised by the UK Nacra 15 Class and runs throughout the year. This is a series of competitions arranged across the UK at a variety of coastal and in-land venues, allowing sailors to compete in a wide range of sailing conditions. These are open events so youth sailors of all abilities are able to compete, getting invaluable racing experience alongside our more experienced Nacra 15 sailors.
The 2024-25 National Series has been split into a Winter Point Series, followed by the National Series.

The UK Nacra 15 National Championships is our annual National Championships which is typically held towards the end of the season each year. This competition provides another opportunity for highly competitive catamaran racing, in the hope of taking home the 'UK Nacra 15 National Champion' title.
The 2025 UK Nacra 15 National Championships will be held at the Royal Western Yacht Club on 11-12 October.

The RYA Youth Nationals Championships is the UK's premiere youth sailing regatta. It is the highlight of the youth racing calendar for the country’s most promising youth sailors as they go head to head in a week of fun, exciting action. The event is open to sailors under 21, and contested in British Youth Sailing’s Recognised Classes – ILCA 6 and 7, 420, 29er, Nacra 15, IQ Foil and Formula Kite. This is a great event for all abilities of sailors, with a great week on and off the water, getting to know the Nacra 15 sailors as well as sailors from other classes. The event also regularly attracts international visitors in the Nacra 15 fleet.
The 2025 RYA Youth Nationals was held in Plas Heli, Wales on 12-18 April.

Nacra 15 Open European Championships - The International Nacra 15 Class runs the annual European Championships, with teams from across Europe, as well as regular international visitors, competing for the European Championship title. This is an amazing opportunity to race against sailors from around the world.
The 2025 European Championships for the Nacra 15 class will be sailed at Lake Balaton, Hungary - 19-26 October.
Nacra 15 Open World Championships - The International Nacra 15 Class runs the annual World Championships, with 80+ boats from around the world competing for the World Championship title. This is an exciting opportunity to race against sailors from a huge range of backgrounds, and to make valuable friends for life. Several former medallists have gone on to compete in the Nacra 17 class.
The 2025 Nacra 15 World Championships will be sailed at La Rochelle, France - 5-12 July.

Youth Sailing World Championships - Run annually by World Sailing, the Youth Sailing World Championships sees one representative from each nation compete in each of the youth pathway classes. Previous winners include the likes of Ben Ainslie and Nathan Outteridge, so youth sailors compete fiercely to gain selection to represent their country on the international stage. Every nation is invited to select one mixed gender Nacra 15 team to compete at the event.
The 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships will be sailed at Vilamoura, Portugal - 12-20 December.

Youth Olympic Games - The Nacra 15 is the only sailing event to compete at the Youth Olympic Games, alongside windsurfing and kitesurfing events. This is an incredible opportunity for sailors aged 15-18 to compete at the very highest level of youth sport. The event takes place every 4 years, with the next event set to take place in Dakar, Senegal in November 2026. Similarly to the Olympics, teams must qualify their nation at a pre-determined qualification event, with each qualified nation selecting one mixed gender team to compete at the event.
The International Nacra 15 Class Association committee put together an annual SuperSeries with events across Europe throughout the year. Many of our UK fleet head over the channel to compete.

We were proud to see Sam Cox & Sophie Raven crowned as 2023 European SuperSeries Champions in 2023, followed by more GB success in 2024 with Tom Jones & Maddie Jinks taking the silver in the 2024 European SuperSeries.
