About the Nacra 15 Class

The UK Nacra 15 Class Association is the national class of the International Nacra 15 Class Association. The class is run by a committee of volunteers elected each year to organise Nacra 15 activity in the UK, providing opportunities for British youth sailors to experience the World Sailing Youth Multihull class!

There is a long history of youth catamaran sailing in the UK, with the Hobie Dragoon and Hobie 16 used in the early 2000s, followed by the more high-performance Spitfire. The Nacra 15 was selected in 2017 as the RYA Youth Multihull class, replacing the Spitfire, and creating a clear pathway from junior classes, through the Nacra 15 and into the Nacra 17 and other high-performance sailing.
